As many of you know, Pinky Swear suffered the devastating loss of our Founding co-Artistic Director, Allyson Harkey this November. Allyson was the original pinky-swearer along with Karen, our current Artistic Director. She was responsible for much of our brand and reputation as sassy, take-no-prisoners feminists. She became a respected figure in the DC Theatre community with her frankness, creativity, and support of her fellow artists.
She was also my best friend. (that's me, Karen)
One of her wishes was that people donate in her memory to several different artistic institutions, including Pinky Swear, Shakespeare in the Pub, and Theatre Washington. If you feel so moved, we would all be grateful to carry on our missions with your support.
Our future plans include more work by Karen and Allyson's husband, Seth. We hope we have more years of producing musicals that she would be proud of.
